Jarquita was born in Mississippi, where she attended the University of Mississippi, graduating with honors with a Bachelors of science. Jarquita continued her educating, graduating from the University of Houston Law Center. Prior to starting her law practice, Jarquita was an assistant attorney general with the Office of the Texas Attorney General where she practiced and hones her skills in family law. Jarquita also practiced insurance defense at Maron Marvel.

While in law school, Jarquita worked for a variety of boutique civil litigation firms where she learned the importance of settling cases and negotiating favorable results for her clients. Jarquita is the recipient of numerous CALI awards and was also a Contributing  Editor for the Journal of Consumer and Commercial Law at the University of Houston.
